Life on Standby

"I don't think people are meant to be by themselves, that's why, if you actually find someone you care about... it's important to let go of the little things - even if you can't let go all the way. Because nothing sucks more than feeling all alone... no matter how many people are around you"

In the one hand are your constant critiques...

Spring hit the UK with pretty much torrential rain where I live... followed by 2 days of blistering sun. My usual gardener (I pay someone due to hand and back problems) didn't turn up so I decided to go out and do it myself. It is now looking nice and tidy again - I however, underestimated the strength of the sun and ended up with sunstroke and a lovely tan :-D

Spent the rest of the day working on my fruit patch which is coming along superbly. Strawberries are budding and Gooseberries are well on their way. Now need to think of protecting them from the scavengers that patrol my garden on a night.. even as a novice gardener I am trying not to use chemicals so i'm calling in the big gun's, a friend of mine who makes a living from growing his own produce, for advice.

Acquired myself another PC the other day, this one purely for writing music, really good spec and also a professional external audio input card - score! Had a few bits of inspiration and I am really enjoying the creating process again - finally! We are trying for first band practice next week... just awaiting confirmation from bass player. It's still sort of a risk starting up now with the current 'social scene' climate at the moment. The way things are over here, 8 cans of lager can be bought for £5 from supermarkets, a bottle of vodka can be bought for £7 - people no longer find it a necessity to go to a club or a pub for a good night. It will only get worse with BBQ season fast approaching.

Been invited to a friends BBQ tomorrow in fact - really looking forward to it. Shaun's family is from Ghana and one of his cousins has shipped over a food dressing that is apparently not allowed in this country - the way Shaun described it was thermonuclear fallout... on a burger :-D Looking forward to it as I like my food hot. I reckon as the night goes on it will turn into a pissing contest between us guys as who can eat the most of it - should be fun ;-)

Been on a music inspiration mission and found some decent upcoming bands - a few of them quite local to me as well!! I love to see the UK music scene building up as it is.

It is my mission to introduce people to as much new music as I can - and some old classics...

I've not had one for many moons Canny, not since I was a child and they were 'freely' available growing wild. For memory the initial bite through is very tangy with a sweet hit coming from the center - it was nostalgia that made me plant and can't wait to try them :-)
