Life on Standby

"I don't think people are meant to be by themselves, that's why, if you actually find someone you care about... it's important to let go of the little things - even if you can't let go all the way. Because nothing sucks more than feeling all alone... no matter how many people are around you"

And you my "friend", have been discovered a liar

Wow, didn't realise it had been so long since I posted on here!

Alcohol intake has been managed to the point that I don't get tremors through my body after a period of no drinking, well, not as bad as they were... they still come on but it takes less drink to 'defer' them - it's a start?

Our band, Accidental Angels, has been coming along really well. We played a set for Rob and Fran's joint birthday and got positive feedback. It was a pretty informal gig but just to play in front of people was a kick!

The origional idea was to play in a Marquee but it looked like rain, so we played in an extension to the farmhouse... and acoustically - it kicked ass!!

Had the great (dis)pleasure this week of having to go for Gastroscopy. For about the last five years i've had a big problem with keeping food down and also indigestion. My GP wanted me to go for this procedure because, obviously, alcohol abuse can increase the risk of cancer. I was told that the tube they pass into the throat was 'narrow' - like fuck! It was basically the width of a garden hosepipe!!! And to make things worse, due to my illness, they couldn't sedate me as the drug they use can have negative effects with alcohol :'( It took 3 nurses to hold me down during the procedure, and typically - the one keeping an eye on my stat's, Vicki, was breathtakingly gorgeous! I can't remember much of it other than being told afterwards I was trying to kick the doctor and that my pulse went up to 170bpm - apparently my threshold for age / weight etc is 184 before I stroke out... nice to know. Results? Hiatus Hernia, oesophagitus and multiple erosions in digestive tract... shit happens I s'pose

Stressed about next weeks tribunal...

Just medication so far. They have suggested I go back for a second gastroscopy but there is no way I could put myself through that again!

Songs, ooh, theres a tough one! Opening track is Gun 'steal your fire', we do a couple of Ozzy Osbourne tracks 'Crazy Train' and 'Shot in the Dark', Sabbath 'Paranoid', Thin Lizzy 'Waiting for an alibi' and 'Dont believe a word' - it is pretty much British hard rock, none of the poofy stuff. This wednesday we are gonna try Lost Prophets '4am forever', Gary Moore 'Still got the blues' and The Cult 'Rain'... I reckon our stand out tracks are both by Judas Priest though, 'breaking the law' and 'youve got another thing coming'... some reason they just flow so well!

Rock and Roll therapy dude, Rock and Roll therapy :-)
