Life on Standby

"I don't think people are meant to be by themselves, that's why, if you actually find someone you care about... it's important to let go of the little things - even if you can't let go all the way. Because nothing sucks more than feeling all alone... no matter how many people are around you"

Your piece of me is fading, part of me is done...

Again, an extended period with no blogging... the reason this time? The move went through and I am now in my new house - wow, a HOUSE, not a flat!

Moving day was pretty uneventful, except I did it all drunk. Two of my sisters helped with everything and when they went... I was as depressed as hell. I had only visited here on a night and although it looked as though they had used a cream coloured paint - they hadn't! They were both heavy smokers and had blocked all the vents on the windows up so the walls were stained pretty badly and the place STUNK! When I had visited, they had both been smoking so I never noticed how bad it smelt...

Anyways, 3 weeks on and it's looking (and smelling) 500% better. As a property, it has a lot of potential, especially the garden...

I am going to rip those conifers on the right hand side down (they are wasting 8ft of decent garden space), clear the mess up at the back (extends another 6 feet past the lawn) and use all that as a barbeque area - already bought a big assed kettle barbeque, weed stopper as a base for flooring and fenced edging. Just need some kind of aggregate now... The bushes on the left hand side, I am going to trim right down.

The back bedroom, MY room was the first to get sorted. This room, along with the gardens, was what sold me on the idea. It's quite a large room so it was flagged straight away as my computer / gym room.

I'm just waiting on the delivery of a multigym to make it a real gym area, can get some good training in then.

First band practice went ok, we were just drowned out by the drummer and I was shaking like a shitting dog all the way through! Second practice, the drummer was away on work and it went loads better. I had regained a bit of confidence and Gary, the bass player said that from what he was hearing, the band is going to work... very well :-)

Still drinking more than I would like, looking to buy either a large LCD or DLP tv as an incentive to stop. I am pushing more towards a DLP because at 45" it's 8" larger than the LCD I can afford and also has more inputs. 3 Scarts, 1 DVI (oh, it's HD ready and I have a HD TV box) and 1 VGA.

Right, off to catch up on some blogs!!
